Therapy Intensives — Paula Kirsch, LCSW, CST | Paula Kirsch Therapy

Therapy Intensives · Paula Kirsch Therapy

Two situations.
One extended day each.

Not every situation fits into a weekly hour. These are two focused intensive days, each built for one specific place people find themselves. Find the one that's actually yours.

One full day,
not months

A single extended session built to move through something specific, rather than an open-ended weekly commitment.

From home,
fully virtual

Held over HIPAA-compliant video, wherever you are, in NY, CT, or MI.

Built around
what's true for you

Each path starts with real preparation before the day itself, not a generic script.

For Women at a Turning Point

Not what's happening in the marriage.
What you've outgrown.

You keep waiting to feel sure. Some days you think you know what you want, and by evening you're not sure of anything. People ask how you're doing and you say fine, because the real answer takes longer than a hallway conversation. You've gotten good at holding it together in front of everyone, your kids, your friends, maybe even yourself. Somewhere underneath it, you have a sense that there's something more, something you're currently missing, and you haven't had the room to find out what it is.

This isn't couples work, and it isn't about deciding anything about your marriage today. It's a full morning set aside for you, whether you're still married and trying to understand what's true, or already on the other side of it and figuring out who you are now. Either way, the question underneath is the same, not what happened, but what comes next, for you.

We meet once, just the two of us, from 8:30 in the morning until 1:30 in the afternoon, from the comfort of your own home via HIPAA-compliant Zoom. No back-to-back clients waiting on the other side, no picking up where we left off next Tuesday. We start by getting the full picture of where you are and what actually matters most to work through today. From there, we go wherever that leads, sometimes that's grief, sometimes anger you haven't let yourself feel yet, sometimes it's reconnecting with a part of yourself the marriage quietly asked you to set aside. By the end, we bring it back to something solid, not a five-year plan, just the next honest step, and what you actually need going forward.

Before we meet, I'll ask you to sit with two questions: what does your reality look like right now, and where do you hope to arrive. There's no right way to answer either one. It just gives us a starting point, so the morning itself is time we spend moving forward, not getting oriented.

For Couples After the Rupture

What happened.
What the two of you do now.

Something happened that broke trust between you. You may already know whether you want to repair it. You may not, not yet. What the two of you need right now is real room to sit with that, not fifty minutes that runs out before you've said the hard part.

This is couples work, not individual processing. Whatever you decide, whether that's finding your way back to each other or finding a way to separate with less damage, you're deciding it together, in the same room, with someone helping you actually hear each other instead of just taking turns being hurt.

Here's how it starts. We meet once, just to talk, before anything else happens. From there, we schedule a focused 45-minute session together, where I get a fuller picture of your history and what's brought the two of you here. After that meeting, I'll send you both the Gottman Relationship Checkup, a set of questions you each complete on your own, privately, and return at least 48 hours before your intensive day. Along with our individual time together on the day itself, it gives me a snapshot of a great deal of information about the two of you, the kind that would otherwise take several sessions to compile.

The day itself runs from 8:30 in the morning until 1:45 in the afternoon, from the comfort of your own home, via HIPAA-compliant Zoom. We start together, briefly, before I spend real time with each of you alone, the things that get softened in front of a partner tend to surface there. Then we come back together for two full hours, the longest stretch of the day, working through what surfaced and what the two of you actually want going forward. Nothing about that time is rushed.

$1,900

Includes the 45-minute pre-intensive meeting and the full day, 8:30 AM – 1:45 PM
